This piece sums up a lot of bad driving manners imo. Lane hogging is a pet hate for me.

Not having the common decency to wave an acknowledgement for being let through.

Oddly I find it is usually the older generation that just sail through without acknowledgement...you can bet they are the first to moan about the younger generation and manners for other things though!

I’m just back from Florida where they’ve started to introduce roundabouts. Trouble is the locals don’t know how to use them. Three times I was waiting to join a roundabout when a driver stopped on it and waived me on. Good manners but bad driving.

Bad driving ………., an epidemic of ……….., The BAD……….. What 124CPPY……….., One single ……….., there does seem to be an awful lot of motoring related things the British get upset about.

Maybe it would be better all round if people chilled a bit and spent less time getting upset about the actions of others and enjoyed their own pleasures. driving

Trust me, there are parts of the world, that make the UK look like a motoring nirvana.

In fairness, I visited Bristol at the weekend and was surprised to see a sign saying "Mini roundabout ahead, priority to right" so it is not just Floridians who don't know how to use roundabouts, Bristolians seem to need reminding too!

I don't think anyone is under the illusion there are not places worst than the UK... Just because somewhere else is worst we should forget about our standards here and shut up?

Imagine someone drops litter, ah we need to chill out and not get upset about it, there are places worst than us! that type of attitude is what turns nice places or good things bad.

Not indicating at roundabouts, strangely annoys me more when out walking and crossing the road near a roundabout.

oh and people who drive at night without lights on, the "oh but my dash is all lit up"

Stubbornly following the rear of the car in front. Oblivious to the needs and intentions of others. Blocking entrances and exits to roundabouts and side roads. I would think a significant amount of gridlock and slowness we get is these muppets silting up intersections.

Again, we need tests every 5 or 10 years. New things are introduced as well as bad habits creeping in.

Mini roundabouts seem to confuse a lot of drivers. It's completely illogical, as their operation is no different to any other roundabouts. But for some drivers, it seems once they have reached a certain size they throw up their hands in despair and don't know what to do.

Considering there’s already a backlog for regular tests, I doubt it would be practical. I can see your point, but it’s unlikely to happen without massive investment in resources.

Add to that those who seem unable to maintain a reasonable speed on a nsl road, braking for every bend, then proceed to go through villages waaay over the limit.

Yes, this. I've had drivers of cars I'd previously overtaken catch up with me in a 30MPH zone flinging up their arms as they can't understand why I am now holding them up. Simply unintelligent.

Another odd one is people who brake at night every time something comes the other way. What the hell is that about?

Yep, I’ve seen both of those. Madness.

The big ones for me, are not knowing the speed limit so guessing, lack of awareness of how big your car is, usually dominated by people in SUV's, lane hogging which is now pretty much commonplace for most drivers, sitting with your brakes on motionless in traffic which has for some [pathetic reason become what 95% of people now do.

Depends what exit they're taking. If they're taking a straight ahead exit, that would be correct.

Indicate left and then swing to the right to make a left turn into a normal junction.

Every time I see it makes me laugh at that driver's incompetence.

I don't have a problem with anyone who needs more room to turn left into a narrow entrance.
