Due to pick up our new to us, LWB Trafic, with a R n R bed.

In our previous caravan and motorhome we had a fixed bed so sheets/duvet was an easy option BUT now we have an R n R bed that will be stowed back upright every morning.

What do you do? A mattress topper, Sheets and duvet? His n her sleeping bags, a sort of topper with a double bag????

In our T4 we use a duvet and a Duvalay mattress topper. Duvalay are not cheap but they are very comfortable. Make sure you have room to store it when you pack up the bed, the 5cm one is pretty bulky.

In our T5 we did use duvets with a memory foam topper but we have now moved to sleeping bags as they are much easier to pack away each day.

IF you have a topper and sheets etc, can they stay in situ as you fold back the R n R bed??? Thats mainly what we would prefer as opposed to a double sleeping bag.... etc.

Our bed folds so that the topper can fold up on top of the rear part towards the back door.

I'll take a photo tomorrow and show you our set up.

Cheers. Ideally we would like to collapse the bed with alll the crap on it and then climb in....rather than have to make the bed up every night. Did that in Oz where we had no choice and it was a right pain at 11pm after a skinfull!

High top T5.1 LWB and wider than normal 'over the top' bed.
Stored in the roof cupboard above the bed.
'Cooler than memory foam' topper from Dunelm.
Four wool pillows and wool duvet (Fogarty). Gets swapped for thick/thinner depending on season.
Sheet is elasticated for ease of on and off, and stays on the mattress topper.
It's under a minute to set up.
We easily sleep as well as we do at home.

TY. So you have the topper down first then the fitted sheet wrapped ontop of that, then the duvet and roll it up etc. I am thinking this is the easiest solution.

The sheet and topper sit neatly on top of the rear cupboard in the high top.
The duvet and pillows get put in the cupboard.
It's a Bilbo's Komba LWB with Reimo high top.

Double sleeping bag, mattress topper (should be called a creak and groan not rock and roll bed)
Topper goes behind seat back when seat is up, sleeping bag in locker.
When the van is not in use for a while we put the sleeping bag in one of those plastic zip up laundry bags the you can buy in b&m and Poundland to keep the damp out.

You’ll have to try a few combinations as it’s obviously an issue with what works for others may not work for you.

We’ve got one of these and it’s very comfortable, but you do have to wrestle to deflate it

But for longer stays we love this, also useful if guests stay over -

Unfortunately the folding mattress doesn’t fit on the rear of our Rib bed, but it may fit on your R&R.

And a coverless duvet -

Thanks all.

We have decided on a 3 inch topper with fitted sheet and duvet. Should be able to roll up and secure with a cpl of bungee cords and then throw back over the bed.

Thankyou
