I was out about yetserday, did two 10-15 min trips no issue, then on the third journey got the red battery light and urgent power system error. Car drove peerfectly well, light went off by itself and stayed off for 10 or so mins then came back on briefly, then off soon after. Later on it restarted fine? no error and drove home 30 mins without any issue.

Pulled the codes tonight and have 4F33 battery temp code. Any ideas? Battery is only a year old, tested at 12.6v, without engine running not tested the charging voltage yet, but has bursts into life, so at this point whilst im well aware of the issues a battery causes i really dont think thats the case.

My initial reaction was a charging circuit issue, rather than the battery.
Failing diode pack? Intermittent connection to the alternator? Loose terminals? Poor earth?

Thanks LTP, poor earth was my initial thought.
I was reading up last night to see it there is some sort of batter temp sensor but appears the CEM uses road speed, voltage and ambiant temp to determine this. So could be one of those and or CEM issue. As it's intermittent im hoping it's not the CEM!

Well just checked the charging voltage.... 15.8 volts. Guess thats my issue!

Anyone know if the regulator can be replaced separately to the alternator.

Nominally, yes - there are plenty of videos on YouTube showing how.

Specifically, maybe. Scuderia Parts only list an alternator, so it would depend on you finding the alternator make and model, then sourcing the required parts. Assuming the alternator Aston selected can be serviced. Scuderia lists the Rapide alternator at £770 each, so it'll be worth looking. There may be other alternators, or second-hand ones.

New alternator fitted and it's down to 14.9v flicking occasionally to 15v. Better but still seems high
