Just picked up - what a beast. Return to 911 after last owning a 996C4s

Accordingly to chap at petrol station it's a "3.2 innit"

I recently bought a 991.1 C4S which I am enjoying.... I have a month in France coming up in June - can't wait!

I hope you have many happy miles with yours - do you park it on the street?

Yes I do, the main risk is careless parking, or Amazon / DPD vans etc. My C63 had 3 scrapes in that regard. Usually when parked adjacent to a driveway (ideal spot for vans).

I live in a "nice" area of London, but thefts happen everywhere, a neighbour had a Skoda kodiaq thingybob (?) stolen and a friend in Dulwich village (super posh area of SE London) had his E63 stolen. I use a disklok, as do a few cars on my street,

Nice car you have - 991.1 sound fantastic.

Recently spent 4 months in a quite nice area of Putney , 2 x Cabrio 911’s close by and they both sported steering wheel locks!

I've had garages for so long, I couldn't imagine parking something nice on the street. But needs must.

I picked my new one up the other weekend and absolutely love it!

We had an effortless drive down from York on the Saturday and its already had 2 washes!

I'm still in awe over the color and the noise is just sublime. Local blasts have been great, we're lucky to have some decent roads around and about. These are on collection day, I'm adding the GTS decals back to the sides, I currently have black and you can barely see them. I'm putting a private plate on this week as well.

Just picked up my new to me ‘18 991.2 GTS, I don’t have that rear light bar joining the rear lights, was it an option?

Thanks

Nice choice. I think a lot of people like the 2GTS as it's wide body but 2wd.

all 4WD Carrera have the light bar (so that's C4, C4s, C4 GTS, targa 4 GTS) and all C2s don't (C2, C2s, C2GTS)

None of the turbo or GT models have the light bar

I actually preferred the chunky light bar on the 996C4s, the thin one they have done since (997.2 onwards) I can take or leave

I have never come across an aftermarket light bar. Chances are there is one out there though! Have seen all kinds of weird things like people putting 997 lights on a 996!

Looks like I've got a slight leak from the turbos. There's no smoke on start-up, but the Porsche Assist chap reckons it might be the turbo seals. I'm getting it recovered in this week to hopefully get it sorted quickly....

Anyone else suffered similar? To add insult to injury, this was only in the local OPC the week before, where they performed a health check and yet, didn't spot the oil leak (which looks like it's been doing it for a little while). Coincidentally, after I called the OPC, I then got the report along with the video, which won't open due to an IT technical issue.... coincidence?

Isn’t it a quite well known issue now? Don’t know how many have suffered, but theres been more than a few posts about it.
Circa £15k job, usually covered by extended warranty.

I was expecting something more spectacular on start-up, but no smoke. Needless to say, it won't be driven until the OPC looks at it. And yes, thank god for the warranty. Hoping its minor as I want to use it!

Fingers crossed for you, but long lead times on everything seems to be norm nowadays!
