My old Karcher pressure washer is coming to the end of its life. It’s done very well so happy to buy another.

Screwfix have 15% off Karcher ending today. Went for the K4 Classic Car & Home which they already had 20% off bringing it down to £199. The discount code wouldn’t work on my iPad for some reason, but did on my PC so got it for £169.59 which feels like a cracking deal. Amazon selling at £264 at the moment!

The Professional range is discounted too…

The last one lasted well over 10 years and this has 5 year warranty. For under £170 it feels like a bargain to me, and Karcher’s UK HQ is five minutes drive away if it goes wrong.

Good shout; had my K2 for quite a while now, but recently noticed a few foam guns and attachments recommend a higher water rate and the K4 slots into that gap nicely. Did the same deal, as it looks like you get more for less compared to other K4 deals on their website. Cheers for the heads up!

I've spent the weekend with my K5 Power Control, really impressed with it.

While I have the attention of people who use Karcher, what is the LCD screen for? As far as I can tell it has a battery indicator to tell you the battery status of the screen. Doesn't seem to do anything else?

just bought one to replace a Karcher that I bought in 1989 that has just packed up. Would have liked it to have done 40 years IIRC it was £399 in 1989 so £100 a decade seems good value

For a very similar price I’d have a look at a Stihl…I lent mine to the builders we have at home. One of them bought one for his own use.

If nothing else having the reel on top for the hose is a big plus. Feels much better made.

Answered my own question, it's a K7 and apparently there's an app. There's an app for everything now but it seemed to work just fine out of the box before I knew this.

As you were...

Pretty impressed with it. So much quieter then my last one and the patio cleaner brush did an excellent job.

From this (I had a half hearted attempt last weekend with the old pressure washer lance hence a few cleaned areas)

To this (the pup had a great time getting in the way as usual)

Very quick and easy

Handy, as that's another job I've got planned with it. Looks great!

How are you finding the stock pressure hose from the washer to the gun? The K2 one is really stiff and wondered if this was the same, albeit longer, or had a bit more play in it? Not a big deal, just curious before it turns up smile

I think it is longer than the hose on my last one at 6m, but it really didn't want to uncoil... Wasn't really a big issue when doing the patio but will be a pain when I'm using it around the cars. I might remove the hose from the lance and uncoil it fully before I use it again to see if that helps.

Sounds like the K2 one, though makes sense as same manufacturer etc. Might get a longer hose from elsewhere at some point, as they're not v.expensive and I'd rather than than have a hose flapping about the motor all the time. I recently got a new stubby gun for cleaning the car, and it's so much easier than using the rifle you get as standard biglaugh

Think my trusty 1010 has just about given up the ghost, it's night on 20 years old and owes me nothing. I wheeled it out for the first proper blast of the year, and it's leaking like an incontinent giraffe, from everywhere. (I checked some youtube vids, repair looks like a ballache of epic proportions).

Annoyingly, Kärcher no longer do a like-for-like replacement in their range, and I'm reluctant to "upgrade".

I have acquired a lot of useful attachments for it over the years, I know you can get adapters, anyone know of any other brands that it'll just fit straight on without messing about?

The AVA pressure washers use the same fitment as karcher. Have a look on amazon though, you can get adaptors for everything now.
