Car rental abroad
Discussion
We have rented a villa in Fuerteventura for June and will require to rent something suitable for 4 adults and 3 kids. Had a look online and could only see 2 suppliers being GoByCar and TopCar.
Prices are fine, but read some questionable reviews on both companies and looking for anyone here that can give any real experience (or other options?)
Looks like my choice is a Landcruiser (or similar) or a SWB Vivaro/Transit etc
Thanks!

Anything cheap will risk you being stung with a HUGE deposit that might be difficult to get back in it's entirety, unless you can categorically prove that none of the many scratches on the car were caused by you.
If they have insurance upgrades they it's worth taking them to massively reduce or eliminate the need for a large deposit.

Rentalcars.com
Its booking.com for car rental. All the big companies are on it.
Also would possibly renting 2 cars work out cheaper?
Agreed re rentalcars.com - but avoid the company that starts with a colour and ends with a word implying movement (as they seem to be dire a lot more than average) . Have done the renting two cars thing and it can be more flexible - but a bit tedious if you have to be in convoy a lot (so depends on what you are going to be doing). Its booking.com for car rental. Consider taking out excess cover insurance separately as a lot cheaper than what they will inevitably try to sell you.
Also check if the price includes more than one driver (if you need that) as that can impact the cost a lot (some include it - mostly bigger ones - some you have to pay more).
If going to an airport it's usually cheaper to go with off-airport ones - but if you're getting there late it can also be a pain dealing with the shuttle bus thing.
Thanks all, TopCar seem to be able to offer me a VW Transporter or similar for £400 ish so I'll likely do that. They have better ratings.
I know 2 cars would be better but I am the only one in the group that has any desire to drive, so that's a no go!
Re the last comment re Italy, almost booked a holiday there and the same size of vehicle for the week was about a grand!!

See what Autoreisen have used them in the canarys in the past and next month.
They are one of the cheapest.
And never had an issue.
Can recommend these guys if they have anything suitable - have used them a few times, very reasonably priced and the whole collection and drop off process was very relaxed with no insurance hard sale or extra charges. They are one of the cheapest.
And never had an issue.
