Still, they're holding a Refugee week, which is nice.

Well it's a fact that whenever I reply on here as a Christian or any thread talking about faith, just gets filled with abuse.

Therefore I can only conclude that this is what the masses on here will want?

Sounds like a sensible decision by the school.

Religion should be kept out of schools except for a factual description of all religions. That should include Christianity as well as the other major religions.

I wouldn’t want Christianity pushed on my children in the same way I would be unhappy if they were celebrating Ramadan.

I suspect that the parents of the schoolchildren are similar to the rest of the country and that even if though they might nominally identify as Christian they are not active believers who attend church.

I agree, but Hampshire isn't in Scotland.

As opposed to the Christian overlords?

I'm not taking the outrage bait. Fewer examples of religious brainwashingcelebrations in schools can only be a good thing.

How does "brutal" come into it? Are the new overlords brutal?

Absolutely this. Religious education and awareness is important as part of an understanding of the world and the people in it. Celebrating specific religious festivals on school time not so much.

I remember when our primary school held a public display telling how a rooster fked a chocolate chicken and that's where easter eggs come from, the headteacher still can't show her face in our village, and that's straight out of Jesus's book.

I wonder if Middle Eastern schools ever cancel culturally significant dates to appease pupils from other religions? Genuine question...I guess fair play if some have done.

But getting back to your comment...I'm guessing you'd be a conscious objector to your Child's school nativity and refrain from attending?
No, of course not.
We're a Christian country and observing significant dates in the Christian calendar are a nice thing.

Just wait 10-20 years and you will find out.

I know it isn’t PC to say such things, but I’m glad I don’t live in a ME country and I fully support the separation of religion and state, which should include schools.

We are not a Christian country anymore (I don’t want it becoming a Muslim, Jew, Hindu country or any other religion either.) Keep all religions out of our schools, universities and any other area of public life.
