Hi All

Is there a way to fit a bike rack to an ND MX5?
I'm sure I saw listings for a tow bar that can be fitted but only through one website andd other tow bar sites state it isn't type approved. I'm presuming having a tow bar on a car which isn't type approved will cause all sorts of problems with insurance. Any other options?

The dream would be to have the MX5, daily it, take it on road trips, use it to carry the bike. Could carry the bike down to the Lake District and have a great time cycling and driving around on a long weekend (other locations are available)

You'd have to check with your insurance company on the towbar. MX-5's aren't approved for towing but that doesn't necessarily mean that your insurance would not let you have a tow bar and bike carrier.

We have a NC. A Saris Bones rack ( obtained second hand) carries a gravel bike perfectly well. Not sure I’d trust it with two bikes or a full fat ebike though… probably me being over cautious!

Hello, I have the same question for the MX5 ND and bike racks or towbars. I can't find a supplier or fitter for a tow bar. My insurance will be covered, the Mazda dealer and customer support technicians say it's possible but that there is no bespoke bike racks towbar fitting produced by Mazda.
