Not sure where to put this, but there have been previous threads on sunglasses in the Lounge so maybe best??

Anyway.

I've got a pair of Raybans that I really like, I dropped and broke a (glass) lens. Rayban/Luxottica don't stock spares, so I've come to PH to see if anyone has any wider knowledge!

Firstly, can I use lenses from a different model? Mine are RB8302, the other numbers on the arm are "014 58 (symbol) 15 3N". I think that means 58mm but not sure on the rest. Would obviously prefer Ray-ban original lenses but if I have to go aftermarket then so be it - so does anyone have any recommendations that they've used before? All of the top Google results seem very glitzy websites that seem a bit OTT for what are probably very cheap plastic lenses.

Any advice appreciated. Many thanks.

Hi, might want to try the following, based out of Italy:

https://www.occhialando.eu/?_gl=1*lecl94*_up*MQ..*...

Go to spare parts, select manufacturer and raise a request form with all the detail you have given above, and they should get back to you quite quickly.

Cheers

These are plastic, but I used them to replace splintered Oakley lenses that were going to be much the same as I paid for the specs in the first place

I had the lenses in a pair of B+L Wayfarers swapped to my prescription. Not sure if you have a prescription, they may just do standard lenses if you don’t. Lensology.

Failing that see if you can buy a broken pair from eBay and make a good set from the parts

I did this when the rim snapped

I had issues with the temples on my RB Aviators coming loose / falling off and getting lost. Luxotica / RB weren’t helpful, but my local branch of Sunglass hut, found me a spare, in a box of bits out the back, and they sorted them, and didn’t charge anything for it either. The guy said if I felt like it, I could donate something to a charity the shop were supporting. I donated a tenner, it’s a win win. I also now use that place for things like cleaning kits / cloths / accessories, or sunglasses, if there’s anything I like the look of.
