Surely he is already banned from driving until he is 17

From the report:

The magistrates told him: "If you break the terms of the order you will be brought back to court and you will be punished in a different way."

A "different way" - the mind boggles...

If I recall correctly they do this because 'driving whilst banned' carries a worse penalty then 'driving without a license'. So they can spank him a bit harder next time. Still pretty pathetic though.

Strange, thought all BMW's were driven by or in the manner of, an 11 year old ?

No wonder they never use their indicators.

surely the parents must have known he was out driving, he's 11!!!!!! it says he swapped his off road quad a week prior where did he keep the car? His mum was prob just pleased to have a lift to the "nick" to visit his thought to be dad! If he dose have a behaviour disorder then why was he out alone in the first place? the mind boggles, bring back corporal punishment!! I wonder what the sentance would have been had he hit someone whilst texting all his mates, who were under "ASBOs", the footage of him doing so....prob just a supervision order and a new playstation...

Magistrates heard the boy, who cannot be named, was playing on his £100 off-road mini motorbike last month when a man in his twenties offered the E-reg BMW in exchange.

What !!

I don't know what's worse, the kid driving the car or the "man" giving him it in exchange for his bike.

Well if he is given 9 points on his license as soon as he passes his test, he'll be banned anyway - you can only have six for the first few years. Infact his license will be revoked, so he will have to re-apply.

I wonder where he was riding his "off-road mini motorbike"

According to the radio last night, the boy has "learning difficulties" and didn't know that he needed a license to drive.
