And it is already past it's best before date.
Because nobody will buy them because they are disgusting.I still remember the disappointment as a child when my gran said she had got us an Easter Egg and bought out a Caramac one......

Love the egg memory. Bet it was “please be a Flake or Buttons egg”. Nope. It was an egg made out of the worst chocolate ever invented by man.

Bad day for my pension pot investment though.........................
Bought the last one available on Amazon that you could have your own message printed on it. It was a joke Xmas present for Wifey with a note to say "not to be eaten"

As a kid I loved these, couldn t get enough. Having bought a pack of the reappeared product last year I m wondering if it s changed or just my tastebuds have?
Sickly sweet, and I struggled to finish even one bar. Have they changed the recipe or am I just officially old?
It's now made from toxic palm oil, flavoured to taste vaguely like you remember, but fails dismally. Check the ingredients, there will be a line about vegetable oils or fats and then a long list of artificial sweeteners, emulsifiers and other chemicals. It's the same with all confectionary now, unless you pay a good chunk of money for the proper dark chocolate fancy stuff with 90% cocoa.Sickly sweet, and I struggled to finish even one bar. If you want chocolate, buy chocolate. Caramac is not, never was, and doesn't claim to be chocolate, so the comparison is irrelevant. If you buy Caramac expecting chocolate, it's not surprising you're disappointed.Super Sonic said:

Yes I am aware of that thank you. I was responding to why he had noted it tasted so bad and gave him the reason for it, which happens to be the same reason for why most other confectionary bars also taste so bad - specifically those labelled as being milk chocolate. I'll concede that it was a bit of a wording fail on my part.
