Hi all,

Bit of advice from the experts if I may? I am looking at a car tomorrow that has a Black Top Zetec fitted, it's been built by a respected company and has the following modifications:

Fully forged
Rotrex supercharger
Wosner pistons
Pec rods
Piper valve springs
Bosch green injectors
ARP bolts throughout
Mocal oil cooler
OMEX management and throttle bodies
Loads more but those are the highlights

It's been properly mapped and dynoed at just over 250BHP, my question is how does the Zetec deal with that power level and as long as its service properly can I expect a long living engine? What are people's experiences with similar power or even similar modifications?

I have a Raceline 2.0l Blacktop in my Caterham, pretty standard apart from ARP bolts, modified head and Raceline cams & sump. So far it's survived 12 years of mainly sprinting and hillclimbing and occasional trackdays. Only 20k miles but a lot of max rev miles. So far it hasn't missed a beat.

250hp seems a pretty modest power level. I'd think any half modern engine built well should be able to run that all day long without any concern

Looks like a nice spec engine. Does the "extras" include oil pump modifications? I recall this being a common failure point in Zetec turbos.
