Hi all,

A good personal friend recently got a Radical SR3 having missed his from "before kids" and we were looking for any UK track days that are suitable for Radical's.

Some circuits appear to have restrictions, Silverstone for example would not permit Radical on normal track days.

Keen to know where people are able to drive them!

Any recommendations?

I'm pretty sure Radicals are allowed on all normal MSV days.

They do explicitly stipulate that even road legal ones are NOT allowed on their "No race Car" days in the spirit of the event.

In the last few years I've seen them at MSV, Open track and Javelin days, but if in doubt I'd contact the TDO. It might vary by circuit as well depending on overtaking room and the number of fast corners where an aero car will be even faster than the power: weight suggests

Not a fan seeing these on a normal track day as they are so capable
And the reasonable limits of standard cars sometimes get ignored by drivers ( they are mostly well within their own limits)

Just becomes intimidating to us mere mortals… check my mirrors nothing for half lap,
Look again next corner and mirrors are full of radical…weaving like a mad verstappen with half a lap left to pass.

Must be more fun playing with the big boys, I get a shake down or set-up session, but hunting down toddlers all day long whilst your Usain Bolt is just ever so slightly odd…

Having said all that I hope you can find something suitable with plenty of other radicals, bac mono, etc to play with, I’d happily join in with you time and funds permitted….

Where’s the fun in driving a radical on a normal trackday. Massively frustrating.

If you find most TDOs won’t allow a Radical you could ask about Test days.

The driver would need to pass their ARDS test & they do cost a little more. As with track days there are a mix of slow & fast cars, but the other drivers are more predictable.
