looking good. so it's a 30mm on a 1.6x camera, effectively the same as the 50mm f/1.4 i use on my camera. i'd be interested to know what you are using it for, and what you think of the focal length. Personally I prefered the 50mm on a 1.5 multiplier, si sometimes feel it's stuck in no mans land on a full frame camera. what do you think?

general use/studio work, car photography. focal length works out to be 48mm. I had the canon mk1 50mm and it was ok but it was too long for general day to day use IMHO. I've yet to use the lens beyond f4 lol

interesting. by beyond 1.4 do you mean above? Mine gets used mainly on f/2.8 or 4, but almost never below 2 or about 5 unless i'm using flash. i actually think that if i was buying again I would go for a 1.8, f/1.4 is not very sharp on my camera and the DOF is so thin its a bit of a joke. but it is nice to have it in reserve for those occasions you have to photograph in the dark, and i never use a tripod. I guess you do use a tripod though, how come you didn't go for something cheaper and sharper?
