Any idea why the PH "Police send Russell Brand files to CPS, BBC report" thread was removed? I don't recall it getting out of hand at the time, but perhaps there was something I missed. Knowing why might be some useful context to stop this one going the same way.

What's problematic about that? He's been formally accused of rape, and if found guilty he's going to jail.

Can probably safely say that even all those years ago when he first started popping up on tv his reputation went before him and I couldn’t understand why he was given the time of day.

I’ve since been told numerous times, and in connection to other celebrities caught up in not wholly dissimilar discussions, the talent is irreplaceable and what not. I openly admit to not understanding the concept of celebrity as I’d be gladly rid of these characters with open secrets. But I’m not a media mogul.

With the very obvious risk of sounding like I’m victim blaming why do people associate themselves with these kinds of people?

Nothing proven til Court etc blah blah.

If he gets convicted I anticipate it will be the same way as Max Clifford some years ago. Not much direct evidence but potentially a number of women who don't know each other but all have exactly the same story. Anyway, until then it's just a charge, not a conviction.
