Hi guys looking a getting a fiesta st, wanted to know if anyone has one for sale. Looking at a ST-200 or a MK 7 ST-3 with no more than 50k miles.

Also, what is everyone’s opinion on the 1.6 EcoBoost engine?

They are brilliant.

I had my 2017 ST3 for 4 years until I changed to an mx5 last summer. Still miss it. Mine was on 83k miles and no real problems. Rear suspension bushes had been replaced but not too costly. Insurance is fairly expensive and they are a target for thieves.

Depending on model year they could be due a cambelt change but it isn't the same wet belt used in the 1.0 Fiestas.

Just do it.

Is there any particular reason it has to be a st3 ? My wife’s is a st2 & has exactly the same spec as a st3 + reversing camera & rear sensors
There was a st200 , 66 plate for sale at a local garage for 16,995 , we thought we’d see what wifes was worth , 30 k miles , spirit blue , 66 plate & other than a few light scratches as new , £7300 .
She won’t sell as loves it , but as I say I’d not rule out a st2 , just check spec .

Fantastic cars, had one for coming up to 5 years now.

My only advice would be make sure you get security put on it the day you buy it, or it will be stolen. It's not if, it's when, without security.

I’m struggling to see how a st200 justifys a extra 10,000 ( 7-17000 ) over the wife’s , both 66 plate , miles similar , 30 k etc , or maybe there’s something I’m not aware of on the st200 ? .

Best of luck with your search , my wife / daughter love / loved there’s .

It's just rarity of the ST200. They came with everything on them and had a slight power increase over the standard car.

I'd only consider paying the premium if it was going to be kept immaculate and not driven too much. It would hold good value as the halo model.

I went ST3 mainly because there were twice as many available than the ST2 in their final couple of years of production. I wanted cruise and climate control which were optional on the ST2 but standard on the 3.

I always worried about theft but used a disclok whenever it was parked up. Keys in a Faraday pouch too. Luckily I never had any issues.

Wife’s has stood on our drive for 8 yrs and has never been touched , parked at hospital in day time .
Daughters had 2 attempted thefts ( drivers window smashed ) in notts , parked on street , that and she wanted a 5 door is why it was sold .

Wife’s car makes no real sense as normally it would cost more to spec it than buy a st3 , but apparently Ford chucked everything at it so show what could be done .
Always annoyed daughter as it has a higher spec than her st3 did .
I didn’t look at st200 that was for sale , it just seemed a awfull lot of money , can’t you get a mk8 performance edition for around that money ( orange ones ) , we looked at a few & there’s a blue version ( can’t remember name ) , but wife just loves hers .

I always like to keep my cars standard. A lot of these get messed with and remapped so watch fir that. 180bhp was plenty and with a set of Michelin PS5s it went extremely well.

If the st200 at the local garage was anything to go by £16,995 I’d Chuck my money at one of these .

I very nearly bought a mk8.5. Test drove this one at my local Ford dealer.

It was very nice but ultimately not enough of an upgrade to justify the cost IMO. In fact the main reason I went for an mx5 rather than another hot hatch was so that I wouldn't keep comparing it to the ST3.

Anyway best of luck op , post a pic when you get one , I find them a bit uncomfortable for me , but they are fun

Yes we looked at one of those in a green colour at notts Ford dealer , it had only done 2 k , like new but she still wouldn’t change .

Agree with that completely. Your car looks just like my old Shadow Black Mk7 ST-2 love

I sold that car, which had the Navigation and Style Packs, last year with 40K miles on it. I now have a Frozen White Mk8.5 ST-3 with Winter Pack. Both are absolutely excellent cars, but I do like the Mk8.5 better. The extra torque, valved exhaust, LSD, Ford Performance seats, matrix headlights and digital dash are all brilliant.

Lot of car for the money & make you smile every trip.
Possibly one of the best b road blasters & just so much kit.
The matrix headlights are voo doo at night & the winter pack is useful even when not cold, eases bad back smile

I bought mine in 2017 with 23k on the clock, its still my daily car and now has 142k on the clock.

Had a throttle body sensor fail at about 47k but other than that had no issues with the engine.

I change the oil & filter religiously at 10k miles and its still all original, Engine is a very good one.

Did the cambelt at 135k miles which was perhaps a little naughty

Also ST2 so doesn't have keyless entry, not sure if that makes it less easy to steal, very much depends on where you live but I never worry about mine going walkies and only have standard security.
