were you on boats or submarines? I wouldn't fancy being in a submarine. I wouldn't fancy being in the forces come to that. I respect those that are though

Did a bit of it all really.
Started off on small ships, then frigates, then did a stint with the Royal Marines, and ended up on Nuclear submarines.

Lots of crap, but some brilliant times.

Yes and I have walked where SB has been (it still smells slightly )

Having worked as a contractor for the Royal Navy for the past year, and contracting for the general military forthe past 3 years I gotta admit, it does look kinda fun!

Then again I would like a job where I would not have to worry about if I am coming home or not the next month

So that pretty much excludes the M25 then...

To be honest Ghost, that's the only reason I left. My wife was expecting my son, I was on nuclear boats, and couldn't guarantee being home, so, off I went.

No regrets though.

Submarines do stink though.

i imagine you get used to the smell. I find that my nose adapts to amibient smells and eventually filters them out. You only notice them if you leave the room and then come back in again after a while.

I am sure SilverB will appriciate the pleasures of "venting" -when the sub comes into dock from an excursion to recycle the air from the last few months

We tend to delay any fault calls for a couple of days if possible to allow this process to complete
