Powerflex Engine/Gbx Mount Fitting
Discussion
I finally got round to fitting the mount that's been sat on my shelf for over a year, I thought I post this in case it is useful for someone in the future. This is for the mount below the engine that you can see when the rear undertray is removed.
Process is in theory really simple, remove a couple of bolts and replace, your engine will move/drop, you can push it around etc.
Mine was an utter faff to fit, the bolt on the larger end of the mount (with the black strut going up to a beam within the engine bay) was not coming out, no matter what I did to it, solution is to remove the entire bracket and mount as one. This means
Re-assembly is much easier as everything is in bits and doesn't need as much levering of engines.
Point of the thread is to say it is totally possible even with the 'seized' bolt, just undo more stuff and take the assembly out.

- removing the bolt securing the top of the black strut thing (13mm socket, fairly easy access above the exhaust and can be done by hand)
- removing the 4 bolts securing the bracket to the chassis, these have 4 non captive nuts on the top, I have an impact which meant it was easy, however no impact might mean they spin, access on the top of the bracket is somewhat awkward with some heat shield in the way, but bend it it around and its do-able.
- getting inventive with a crow-bar to move the engine out of the way so the bracket can be removed from the chassis rail.
