With Badlands being the live action film, we now have the animated film coming from the director that did Prey.

Looks to be set over 3 eras and pretty decent.

I just came here to post this. It looks good and animations having a better success rate than live action I'm hopeful.

Just watched it. The episodes are variable, plot holes, plot armour, not very predatory Predators, and time travel. The Japanese episode was very good and I liked the animation.

Well, there wasn't time travel - at the end it showed cryo-pods and implied that they kidnapped/froze any humans that bested a Predator, presumably for a future gladiatorial contest. We saw the girl from Prey, frozen. Maybe in another pod we'd have Danny Glover biggrin

I thought it was **ok**... I like funny cartoons like South Park etc, but struggle with "serious" stories being animated, especially in such a stylised / anime sort of way, just can't get invested like I could if it was real actors. Didn't like how the Predator in the first story was about 15ft tall... 2nd story in Japan was better, but then it went stupid with the 3rd one, both in the sense of the jokey kids cartoon tone, and the suspension of disbelief over the aerial dogfight...

Final chapter was ok, as it wasn't a huge leap from the plot of "Predators" [the Adrien Brody movie] so I could believe it was possible...

Kind of in agreement with the other replies so far - the 1st (Viking) and 3rd (WW2 Pilot) mini-films were very "meh" and/or broke lore canon, the final boss fight was just dumb as a box of rocks, but the 2 mini-film set in Japan was very, very good for most of its runtime, if a little "trope" filled in places ("oh no, I'm grievously injured, best I keep fighting at full strength for another 5 minutes" etc) and I'd have liked to see something more of this idea (Ninja/Samurai vs Predator) in some future TV/Film event.

Overall, despite being a massive, mega Predator universe nerd, I didn't really like this at all bar the Japanese section and certainly won't ever be watching this again.

Great start and completely and utterly ruined by the last character, was utterly ridiculous.

The Japanese and Nordic stories were great, proper old style hero stuff, yet the Spanish guy climbs out a plane while it is flying and climbs onto the wing. I mean I know this is not supposed to be real but for goodness sake. The predator dies inside the creature but he stays alive miraculously and clicks a button? Cmon what rot. At least try and be real. And the other two characters were far more real and driven.

The animation was superb, but I did feel far more interest in the Samurai and Norsk characters, the Spanish kid was laughable and so utterly weak, he was not a great fighter in anyway he was just a lucky mechanic, great idea utterly ruined by the final character sorry 3/10.

But the 3 protagonists weren't frozen, they were live and thrown into a cell together. For the 3 of them to be chosen and revived out of the hundreds if not thousands shown in storage is too big a coincidence.

Yep - check 1hr02m - we see the spanish kid thawing out in a cryopod. He wakes up, they bung an explosive necklace on him and chuck him in the cell with the other two. The assumption is the other two had been woken up just before. Obviously they have been frozen for 1,000/300 years at least, but potentially it could be another 1,000 year since WW2 when the spanish kid was abducted

Yes, forgot about that. Still too big a coincidence and would've worked better with just the Japanese and someone new or the girl from Prey.

The film would've been much better without the Latino character and his episode.

Just watched it, agree with the above about the pilot story, a bit too Mission Impossible with the aeroplane antics. Really liked it overall though, and I liked the Easter egg tie ins.

FYI - there's been another end credit scene that has just been added to the film.
If you skip past the first end credit scene and the animated credits it then shows another additional scene.

Depending on how you feel about it, it's a biggie.
