1991 BMW M3 Sport Evolution
Discussion
Through my long-standing relationship with Moseley Motorsport, who maintained all of my M3s at the time, I had been searching for a good example of the Evolution Sport to add to my collection. Thanks to my motorsport contacts, I was made aware of a particularly strong example that was soon coming to market. It had sustained very light damage, but was highly recommended as an excellent investment and a superb daily driver.
Prior to purchase, I arranged for an independent visual inspection by my trusted engineers at Moseley Motorsport. They were unable to identify any obvious signs of repair, and after discussions with Marrtek Motorsport – who had the car for sale and were well acquainted with my contacts – it was confirmed that any renovation work had been carried out to a very high standard.
Given the confidence I had in the engineers who had maintained my cars over the years, I proceeded with the purchase – a decision I have never regretted.
This work was carried out nearly 25 years ago, and at the time, as the car became my daily driver, I saw no need to formally document the minor repairs. My focus was purely on enjoying the ownership experience, not on building a provenance file. Even today, specialists who have inspected the car, including those at PistonHeads, have been unable to spot any evidence of prior repairs. It continues to drive exactly as a Sport Evolution should: tight, precise, and thoroughly rewarding – a true testament to the quality of the work carried out at the time.

Thank you for the detailed response.
Can you also advise on who has done the servicing after Moseley Motorsport? Was this car originally serviced in Telford where MM are or were based or did Nigel service the car on a mobile mechanic basis? Furthermore how much of the total mileage has been done under your ownership?
