Morning all

So I have this lovely little Rega Brio amp which is the current, about to be discontinued model. And I put it with a pair of B&W DM601S3 speakers. Its a nice enough sound but overall im finding them a little bright. For the record the room they are in is about 16' x 12' and carpeted with soft furnishings.

Im thinking of changing them but going used again. Mostly because of budget. I bought the B&W for about 2 or 300 quid. They are in good nick so I can resell them.

Any thoughts appreciated as always.

The reason for the bright sound with 601s is the aluminium tweeter. Some people like it some don't (I can't stand it).
You'll never change it by changing the room.
Try other speakers with tweeters made of a different material ( I've always been a fan of Dynaudios).
There are others (Dali comes to mind).

If are looking to buy Dynaudios used check the tweeters don't have dents (it's a fabric).
They can be fixed FOC (more or less) but will generally have a crease in them after you do it.

Agreed and opinion is as you say the aluminium tweeter being the culprit. I will take a look at Dynaudio.
