Afternoon all.
Very tempted by a diesel Alfa Stelvio that’s going for a great price. Quite high mileage but FSH and decent condition. Really want the petrol 280, but they are more money. Won’t do more than 7000 miles a year. I know, I know.
Can’t get over the fear of the DPF and the moral issues regarding exhaust gas.
Drove it today. Wasn’t blown away by the performance and my Giulietta MA feels perkier. But, liked the ride and handling.
Family liked it.
Is it madness?
Cheers.

On short urban journeys a 280 petrol will be a killer on petrol. I don’t think the diesel will be as bad. I guess it comes down to the possibilities of pdf damage.
The Stelvio and particularly Giulia’s are a massive step up in driving manners over a Giulietta though.
I’ve had all three!

Sounds like a waste of time and you’ll always regret not getting the petrol one

I’m sure one blocked DPF bill will soon make up the difference between the cheaper diesel and the petrol

You’ll only regret it and find ways to justify changing anyway

Don’t be lead by price
