Just given my car it's weekly wash and noticed some thieving scumbag has stolen my tyre valve caps (metal type).

This is the second time it's happened, so I'll be replacing them with the black plastic jobbies this time.

I know it's a bit sad to winge as they only cost about a tenner, but that's the point....surely whoever nicked them could afford to buy their own.

Hangin's too good for 'em.

I had some of those stolen off my Escort, about two years ago whilst it was parked on the drive overnight.
I replaced them with £1.49 black plastic ones. It's not the money that bothered me, but the thought that some low-life had his mits all over my car, and probably had a good look at what else to steal.
Lucky I had locking wheel nuts on....

Not worth the hassle. I'd rather stick with plastic ones now.

Same thing happened to me - only the lazy fcukers couldn't be arsed to go round the other side of the car and nick all 4 - just took the 2 nearside!! Muppets.

Fooled 'em a few years ago by 'mole-gripping' dust caps in place - undaunted they nicked all four wheels to remove dust caps elsewhere - bet they dumped the OZ's - still puzzled how they bypassed locking wheel nuts??

Ever thought about getting the metallic locking ones? I know Slick50 here in NZ are agents for the locking style metal ones, you can even get them with the manufacturers logo on the end..... mitsi, subaru, nissan, ford.... dunno about TVR though. Basically you screw them on and then there's a little grub-screw that locks the thread with one of those little jewellers screwdrivers that you can keep in the glovebox..... certainly worth a try maybe?

I had the same thing. Perhaps they just nick the ones that are on the Kerb side at the time.. Just some natty little BBS alloy caps. I will just use the black ones in future..

If you used locking ones would they just cut the ends of the valves off instead?

I heard that the little scrotes nick a pair for their BMXs, that's why only 2 go missing quite often...

Why don't the scrotes get down to the local petrol station, I invariably find at least one dustcap on the ground when checking my tyres.

Bastards!

Just checked my car and three dust caps missing. Funny how they left the one black plastic one.

Chaps, why don't you just fit some of those flush-fit valves if you're that bothered about it?
