I am not normally one for commenting on things, especially when I have no intention of purchasing, but the detail in that advert is far from correct!
There has never been a supercharged Mercedes V8 in a Radical! They did their own Hayabusa based V8 that was naturally aspirated.
Early SR3's were 1300 or 1500 with later models being 1340 or 1500 from the Factory. The SR3-SL was the Eco boost powered car. Early Supersports like this that were road legal were not given the SL title.
I am fairly sure this car will not have a heater fitted not being a later Ecoboost powered SL model.
The invoice shows the rebuild of a 1500cc engine so it is either still this or there has been another rebuild that there are no invoices for, the logbook shows 1300cc and the advert states 1340cc so who knows.
'The vendor notes that the Weber carbs may require a tune-up as it idles unevenly when cold' is an interesting line as Weber carbs were never fitted to a Radical - although even more so in this case it is quite obviously fitted with Jenvey throttle bodies on fuel injection!
I won't mention the angle of that wing either......

Many thanks for adding in your points and expertise around this car.
You are correct with the fact that the SR3 did have the 1340cc engine. Whilst there is a rebuild invoice for a 1500cc engine, from speaking with the seller he cannot confirm if this engine is currently fitted, and so he presumes that the V5 is an accurate guide, although this may not be the case. With regards to the carbs requiring resetting this is something the seller believed to be correct, however we very much do appreciate you sharing your knowledge of the Jenvey throttle bodies.
Best wishes
Dave
I recently bough a Spire GTR off this very seller and felt obliged to comment to save the future owner heartache.
My car was NOT as described and has taken £000s to even get driving despite being sold as runs and drives.
Interestingly, the advert for my car was also full of incorrect information. The seller was adamant that the “carbs just need adjusting to fix the awful over-fuelling”, despite the engine being fuel injected….
The seller does not know what he is talking about. He knew no details about my car, and the ones he shared were all wrong.
I saw this radical whilst I was there and it is in an extremely poor state, it has not been looked after and will require major work.
The seller claimed to have a folder full of details on both cars, I looked through everything when collecting mine and the Radical has 1 a4 invoice. That is all.
I can’t stress enough, this car is not to be trusted.

Thanks for your message — we really appreciate hearing from buyers with first-hand experiences.
We always aim to host a fair and transparent marketplace, so we take posts like this seriously. We’ll be reviewing the details of the Radical listing internally, and we’ve already reached out to the seller for further clarification on the condition and paperwork.
It’s important to stress that every auction listing invites questions, viewings, and independent inspections — and we strongly encourage bidders to take full advantage of those before placing a bid.
If any interested parties have concerns or would like support in doing their due diligence on the car, just drop us a message via DM or contact the PistonHeads Auctions team directly. We’re happy to help however we can.
Thanks again for raising this — it helps keep the community strong.
Hi, This is Dave from PistonHeads
I am just replying on behalf of the seller to add a little more context as to why he is selling this car on no reserve
Note from the seller,
This car is exactly how I purchased it three / four years ago years ago I haven’t spent any money on it during that time, based on the fact that the car has had very little use due to me sadly suffering from a stroke not long after buying this car.
As a result it has been parked up for the majority of the time that I have owned the car. When I bought the car I did buy it as 1500cc car. I did take it on the road on a couple of occasions and also 2 or 3 track days as well. As a result of it being parked up, I have not spent anything extra on the car in my time, hence there being no invoices in the last few years.
Please remember this car was built by radical themselves so whoever gets it can contact radical as well for history on the car. The car is available for anyone to come and inspect should you wish too. Kind regards.

No miles recorded - Engine and gearbox will need a rebuild. Well over £6K for that now (£4.5K in 2008).
Rear clam is a different yellow to the main body.
Front right wheel looks dangerous as it is not seated on the studs, someone has made a big mistake here -The wheel is pressing on the face of the studs rather than seated over them. This means the nut is not on far enough to a) have enough thread and b) to enable the red safety catch to stop the nut unloosing.
Front crash box is not riveted to itself or the chassis. This is not safe.

Hi,
I’m very interested in your Radical SR3 that you are selling.
I would like to import it to Italy and, to register it there, I would need the European Certificate of Conformity (COC).
Could you please let me know if the car has the COC, or if it would be possible to obtain one?
Thank you very much!
