Has anyone moved house with an OLED TV & got any tips?

I've got an 65" OLED TV which I am planning to have a removal firm take for me when I move house. Could try to do it myself but if it gets broken I'm not insured whereas the removal men are.

Just wondered what people's approaches to this are. They did offer the option of making a crate for me, to put the TV in, but said they usually do that for artwork or chandeliers which might be irreplacable so this might be overkill

I moved house a couple of weeks ago with a 65" Plasma, a 48" LED and some 32" LED TVs. I got boxes and bubble wrap for all of them from Amazon and the removal company wrapped them in blankets.

Thanks 48K - can you share the box you got for the 65" TV? I looked at some on Amazon but most reviews said the cardboard was quite flimsy. If I can find one with rigid cardboard that would be ideal

I think I’d make a crate. Few bits of 2” x 2” screwed together into 2 halves. Wrap the Tv in bubble wrap or blankets and sandwich it between the wood, then screw one half to the other.

The removal company I used had what was basically a massive laptop sleeve when they moved my OLED two years ago. They will be moving multiple TVs every move - I wouldn't be fretting it.

I paid the premium so they packed everything for me. Worth every penny.

In a previous life of selling tvs we would wrap display models with bubble wrap and tape them up. That also worked with no disasters.

Try going to Currys or suchlike to see if they have an empty box that fits your TV.

Moved ourselves 150 miles from the midlands to North Yorkshire in Nov last year with 3 x 50"+ TV's. Wrapped in bubble wrap, blanket over the top, zero disasters.

It was this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DJV2QJTC

Far too large for the TV so we cut the box to wrap it properly.
