I am about to swap out my broken radio in my 1994 S1 Chimaera, with the radio removed I've come across this brown plastic box, it looks like it may not be anything to do with the radio, or could well be - does anybody recognise it and can advise what it's for please?
Replies much appreciated!

Can't upload a picture at present - the box is about 45x 25x25mm wire going in and a wire coming out, there's also a 3amp inline blade fuse in the wire.

Is that that special invisible one that was an option? hehe

Looks like an inline filter/noise suppressor to me for the radio.

Many thanks for your thoughts, I have been trying to open it up but feel it's sealed for life, it has two latching tags on it, it I feel ill destroy it trying to prise it open. It is connected into the radio multi plug, so a filter is a good guess. Just wondered if anyone else has one installed and could confirm I need it for my replacement radio.?
Concerned that it may have something to do with the original alarm / immobilizer set up?

Nothing to do with the alarm/immobiliser.

Hi. One of these? I use to fit them on luxury cars many years ago. They are for suppression due to some cars suffering from alternator whine through the speakers.

Hi. No probs. Modern head units have this circuitry built in so you may not need it. Glad to be of help. Dave.
