Hi all,

Looking for restaurant recommendations in York for this Good Friday. For our Airbnb guests, not sure of cuisine preferences but think they eat everything!

Any suggestions?

Thanks smile

I used to travel to York for work several times a month and always looked forward to eating thai food here:

We had a weekend in York last year, and had a very nice meal at The Star Inn The City:

Spoilt for choice in York.
The Star inn the city
The Whippet Inn - Great steaks
Walmgate ale house
Stonegate Yard - Tucked away pub with a lovely outdoor eating area if weather is good.
Fish and Forest
Skosh, but you might struggle for a table this close.
Ipfu - Japanese, doesn't look much from outside but lovely sushi / sashimi / ramen

Just depends on what you want really.

Are they actually in the city centre or a village on the outskirts?

Do you just happen to have Air B&B guests in both York and Edinburgh OP?

Another recommendation for Skosh, great food and service.

All on my list are in the centre although Yemen heaven is a few minutes walk south on one of the main roads

Is that the one that is sort of Thai tapas? If so been twice and it’s excellent, would definitely go again, nice atmosphere too.

A second for The Whippet Inn for steaks. On North Street so about 5 minute from the city centre / tourist area.
Nola does a very good mix of dishes and has a jazz / art-deco theme to it. On Lendal to very central.

Il Paradiso del Cibo, décent Sardinian food, staff a bit off at times but not a bad authentic place.
