Dover - Calais Ferry - How long to get to check-in
Discussion
Does anyone have any recent experience of travelling by ferry from Dover to Calais?
Specifically, if check-in closes at 11:55am for example, what time do we need to arrive in Dover? The day in question is the last Friday of May half term, so shouldn't be horribly busy leaving for France (I hope).

We blasted through last week on P&O, was booked at 09:30, small print reads check in closes an hour before departure so I thought we should get there an hour before that incase of queues. As it happens there was no queue at all, check in lady said if we were quick we could nip onto the earlier ferry (even though our ticket was not transferable) so we were parked onboard within 5 mins of arriving. Left Guildford at 5:30am and were in the Netherlands by lunchtime. Still think you should give yourself a good hour just incase, but if you have a ticket that allows getting an earlier/later ferry then you could cut it very fine indeed.
