If so how's the ride?

My rears need replacing soon, they are normal 235 x 40.

On my Chimaera I put 245s on the rear and they made a bit of a difference. Wondering if 255s are too much of a change for the t350.......

I think that you'll find that they are too wide and will lead to fouling on the wheelarches and suspension. I would recommend that you stick with the same profile but perhaps try a different manufacturer. Some tyres seem to have a softer sidewall construction, this will help with ride quality albeit at the expense of the handling! Hope that this helps. Tony

Got 255's on the back of my 350 with no problems, apart from the tyre man struggling to get them on in the first place.
No fouling problems or noticeable extra tramlining.
I ordered a pair of std tyres for the car, and these came by mistake, but I decided to give them a whirl (plus I got a discount for the tyre fitters error in ordering !)

Try 255/35-18 and you are fine, more grip and no problems with ride height and tyre rubbing.

Is there a 245 35 x 18?

What is the optimum width tyre for the std rim? Sometimes going wider doesn't help. If the T350 rims are the same as the Sagaris' then the larger size must be OK!?

255/35 18 tyres often foul the arches on standard wheels (18" spiders) under heavy suspension deflection. Not all cars are the same because they are hand built etc. so you don't know until you try. 255/40 is unlikely to be a good fit and is not an accurate conversion so affects gearing and ride height, same applies to 245/35. If you do go for the 255/35 make sure you get your suspension geometry checked/ adjusted afterwards - it changes as you alter the footprint of the car.
