2.0 Petrol F Pace - worth a look?

I’ve seen a competitively priced 2017 R Sport 2.0 Petrol F Pace when looking for a practical daily. My mileage is usually a few k a year mostly commuting in to a town, and weekends of ferrying kids to and from activities, skip runs etc. I need it to be reliable and all weather usable.

Are these a good steer, or best avoided? They look good and I quite like the cabin.

2.0 petrol looks to be far more reliable than the diesel variants, I do wonder if it will be too slow and unexciting. With that said it’s not far off half the price of an SVR, and is a fair bit cheaper than the warm estates I was eying before (B8 RS4, C43 AMG) which could open up a 2 car option in future.

Any good or must have options to check for?

Don't know too much about them but I'd want the 3.0 petrol. The 2.0 looks slow on paper.

We were in the same sort of predicament and ended up with a 2.0 Mini Countryman with lots JCW goodies. We are very pleased with it. Goes well and handles well. Ours is 2wd but you could get the All4.

Just a thought.

Dad has the 2.0, it drives well and has enough poke, MPG isn't spectacular but its been faultless in 7 years.

Thanks all - I agree the 2.0 probably a bit slower than I’d like to be honest, but for a daily it is tempting me. Service history looks good.

My folks had a 2017 F-Pace D180, and it was a lovely thing to drive and was faultless in the 5 1/2 years they had it (traded it for a Velar in Jan 24). Based on that I would imagine the performance of the P250 will be perfectly fine I reckon.

Isn't the 2.0 the dreaded Ingenium engine with inherent issues and terrible reliability and best not just avoided but actively placed as far away as possible from yourself?

This is a petrol one which is not affected in the same way, and I have to say, that despite all the negativity around them I really like our 2.0d Discovery Sport, and would have another one tomorrow if we had to change it despite all the negativity around them.

A P250 F-Pace will be a lovely thing to drive, and 6.5sec 0-60 time isn't that slow, plus the 9 speed 'box quickly drops you into the power band for making quick overtakes and such like.
