Gallardo SE - Anyone seen one yet?

Hmmmm. So at £137K list, what do you think the hit would be after say, 6 months and 3k miles? Does the exclusivity of 14 units give any boyancy to the RV?
The market isn't predictable enough really. You can get a 430 for list price now second hand without a wait, and thats one of the most anticipated cars on the market at the moment.
It's weird. Everyone thought the Gallardo depreciated tonnes and you could get cars for £85k yet my boss's friend sold his for £105k after more than a year (this is going on vague memory... but I do remember James saying they weren't depreciating as much as people thought).
Fickle market for sure. Just make sure you drive the nuts off the car so you get your money's worth

Actually I've been offered the same for mine (105k, 1 year old). And I haven't taken it since I haven't decided what to get next. And dont want to be toyless for 6 months.
The residuals really depend on the spec. Alot of the early ones were Yellow/Black, manual, low spec. They are in the 90's since there is plenty of choice.
If you have a different spec you can still get 100+. Although the market is slow all around. So you have to be patient.

Budget for 25k-30k loss on the SE. Thats always my rule of thumb when spending this much money. If your wrong you'll be pleasantly suprised. I don't think it will often be worse.
As I said before I don't think the two tone paint job alone will improve the SE residuals. They may hold slightly above the coupe, but not enough to be significant.
Especially with the Spyder, New Murci, etc on the way.

Don't forget that the spec on an SE includes options which, added together, turn out to be a few grand cheaper than if they were added to a standard car. So what you get with the SE is MY06 spec engine and box, with cheaper options and unique paint, months before any standard 06 models will be available. In that respect the SE is actually a bit of a bargain, assuming you would spec the car as Lambo London have done - which I certainly would, in terms of sale-ability in the future.

Ofcourse if those are the options you would go for it represents some value against a 06 coupe similarly specced.
But when it comes to residuals, the only thing seperating it will be the paint job.
IMO it will depreciate to a similar level as a coupe specced with the same options. (Don't forget theres only 1 thing in the car market with worse residuals then a car, and thats the options on the car).
