I've been offered a very low mileage 2015 730Ld but it's got one if not two failed rear air bags and I'm betting the pump is on its way out too.
I'm far from up to speed on any Seven after 2000 so need some advise please. I presume the model is an F01 or F02 rather than the later G11 as the car was registered in March '15.

Looking for info on recommeded parts suppliers other than BMW and any other potential problems with the rear suspension.

Thanks in advance.

F02 - LWB

IIRC the bags/struts etc are expensive, that'll be why it's being sold on

Personally I'd stick with one that has standard suspension

Yes, spot on F02. Thanks.
Allegedly, the struts/bags from an aftermarket supplier are sub £300 each and a pump c.350. How correct that is I honestly don't know. And there's different struts depending if the car has EBD or VS somewhere or other. If those parts prices are correct they seem reasonable.

Only Arnott air springs are worth a carrot. Avoid A*r*sus like the plague!

The last thing you want to fit is cheap air suspension

As already said Arnott is what you need. You'll be looking an easy £650+ per corner and then pump on top...

As said, this is why it's being sold on

You could rip it all out and fit standard suspension but you'll need someone to code out the air suspension etc

More hassle than it's worth IMO

Thanks. Yes, fitting springs and shocks is a possibility which I'm sure I could live with. Also, it's relatively inexpensive - Sachs springs and Bilstein shocks only come in at £350 for a pair of both.

I think the G11 was from 2015 onwards, so your F02 would be one of the last of that variant?

I've just purchased a 2014 F01 730d M Sport (standard wheelbase) as my first ever BMW, so far it's an awesome car but I have a lot to learn about these cars, and I'm yet to start learning how to use iDrive and all the buttons and switches. I intend to do some learning over this BH weekend.

if it's an XDrive model they require tyres on each axel to have near identical tread depth, so if you have to change one tyre you need to change both?

Thanks for your input, no it's not an Xdrive.

Yup; I'd do just that

Fit OEM spec springs and shocks and get the original suspension coded out etc

It'll still drive and handle superbly; as long as the car is worth it to begin with

Cheers. Yeah, it an excellent car otherwise. Just need to find out exactly what's involved in removing the airbags and anything else that's involved. Thanks again.
