I've had Plex Server set up on my DS420+ for a while, and it was working. I could access my media on various devices with Plex.

I tried playing some music the other day, using the Plex app on my Shield TV, but nothing came up.
I could access the files directly on the Shield via the NAS though.

I've just tried opening the Plex Server on the Synology by clicking the app icon in "installed packages".
I get a new browser window opening, but it says it can't access the required quickconnect page.

If I replace the "user.direct.quickconnect.to" text in the browser address bar with the Synology's IP address, I can access the Plex Server web page with no problems, and I can play music on my computer.

Any ideas?

Check if quickconnect is running? Think its in network center.

Edit: Control Panel -> external Access

I'll check, but I use quickconnect to get onto the Synology in the first place.

Edit:

Quickconnect is enabled

Check if the permissions have changed on the folders where your media is?

In DSM go to "Control Panel > Shared folder:.
Select the media folder you want Plex to have access to.
Click Edit.
Click on the Permissions tab.
In the dropdown change "Local users" to System internal user".
Find and select the PlexMediaServer user (or Plex user for DSM 6).
Tick the Read/Write permission box and click Save (or OK for DSM 6).

Permissions are set correctly, checked that yesterday.

I can play the files stored on the Synology using the Plex apps on the Shield and a Roku box.

I can play the files on my Mac if I sign in to the Plex Web page.

I can play the files using Plex on my Mac if I access the Synology using its IP address and the Plex port from a browser

I can access the Synology home page from my Mac browser using quickconnect.

I can access Surveillance Station on the Synology using quickconnect.

I can't access Plex on the Synology using quickconnect - I have to type in the IP address and port
