Virgin Media (Cool Starry Bra)
Discussion
Walking to the supermarket the other day and I notice that the Virgin Media cabinet that serves half our close has been left open by a d
head engineer and is banging about in the wind. So being doing my civic duty and with all the fibre exposed, I attempt to report it to Virgin. I gave up on calls and it took nearly TWO hours to resolve it on chat as the agent was probably running 20 other chats.
They wanted my name, address, Virgin Media account number (I'm not with them), and amount of last bill. It took 15 minutes to convince the guy that I wasn't talking about the box on my wall, but the main roadside cabinet. In the end the resolution was that they would send someone out in 7-14 days.
I ended the chat with "Sometimes, you can't help stupid", and then realised the stupid person was actually me.

Alternatively call the council roads and lighting faults line and tell them Virgin, BT or whomever equipment is in a dangerous condition and they report it, as BT are a PITA as well.

Yeah I alternate between thinking people are stuck having to follow their internal company process and thinking they're just stupid.
I had a whole bunch of "Thank you for taking out your car warranty" emails where someone had purchased a car and has somehow given the warranty company my email address.
Forwarded the email to the warranty company politely asking them to take my email address off their records because I hadn't bought a car or a warranty and the name and postal address on the documents wasn't mine so politely said the guy must have given them the wrong email address.
What did I get back?

I once had a letter from the council tax people saying I was no longer eligible for sole occupier discount because Samantha Witherington-Scornforth was now living at my address. I ran them to explain I'd never heard of her and she certainly wasn't in my flat, and promptly got grilled on what her current address was. They obviously have a card labelled 'list of questions to ask if someone wants their single occupier discount back' and went down the list without thinking.
Virgin truly are the pits
They seem to have lost the keys near us, the engineers force the boxes open then just leave them flapping in the breeze
I have been using giant metal jubilee clips to keep a few shut
The numpties don’t bother to put the jubilee clips back on, sling them in a bush and leave them flapping
A few years ago the local kids took great delight in messing inside with the cables which meant no internet for a few weeks at a time
The one opposite my folks house had been insecure for at least 20 years, my dad keeps his eye on that one
