I'll start - people who refer to their car as "The Beast". Even worse if it really isn't that "beastly". Usually uttered by people with knackered Mk1 Range Rover Sports or BMW X5s.

I hate it when people on here say

“It’s a pretty thing”

Or

“Chuck Xx amount at it” like they’re throwing physical cash at a broken car

Referring to a car as “she”

Or

“Leptons”

An in-law of mine referred to his Austin Maxi as being "...more like a sports car" rolleyes

Than a horse perhaps. Mind you he did have a Bond Minicar when I first met him.

"It corners like it's on rails" - so that it screeches and squeals at ever bend or it has no suspension whatsoever?

Although my e34 M5 had a nickname of "Über-barge" - because it was quick, but rolled like a boat in heavy swell.

This, with bonus points for giving the car a name. I’m looking at you Manish.

Some of the car trade introducing their offerings as "that's a bonny motor" - cringe!

That was a reasonable expression when it meant not wasting any time. The problem was that it became a euphemism for driving like a maniac late for a fire.
