Hi all

We will be staying at Chateau Des Arpentis in Amboise for two nights in July.

We will be travelling to Amboise from La Rochelle, on Monday and leaving on Wednesday to visit Mont-Saint-Michel for 1pm on Wednesday so only have Monday/Tuesday in Amboise.

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to visit/restaurants/good driving roads in the area or on the way North to Mont-Saint-Michel or from La Rochelle to Amboise.

I don't drink, but my partner would like to visit a vineyard/wine cave.

We've noted down the below for potential places of interest

- Chateau du Close Luce
- Cave du Vouvray
- Patisserie Chocolaterie Bigot

Nice place to wander around, worth visiting the main Chateau (I can't remember the name, dominates the town) and the parc Leonardo da Vinci.

Plenty of places to eat on the main drag.

This is our stomping ground (we have a holiday home near by - OP feel free to DM me...)

Cycling is great around Amboise - you can hire normal or electric bikes (the hills are steep out of Amboise), there are more than 20 marked routes.

Cave de Vouvray - don't go to the one on the river, go to this one: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Cave+des+Product...
They do cave tours as well (see their website for when the English one is).

You can hire canoes on the Loire, Loir or Cher.

The local aqauirium is fun for kids (but not cheap)
