Taking my Cayenne on a ferry shortly which lasts more than 10 hours. This means I can't use the MyPorsche app to deactivate the PVTS tracker as it's limited to a 10 hour window.

As the chances of the car being stolen whilst on the ferry are zero, can I just leave the fob in the car?

Does the tracker system report movement without the engine running anyway?

I'll be trying to call vodafone anyway, but last time I tried that the call waiting time was so long I would have been sailing away before reaching them .... they said I had to advise them just before needing the system deactivating!

Yes the tracker still works if engine off on a ferry (or at least mine did last year) - didn't help that the alarm went off on both legs of the journey

Vodafone Tracker called each time and I just notified them of travel plans - all sorted

Did you actually leave the fob in the vehicle?

I "think" I understand how to turn off the movement sensor on the main alarm ......

Just arrived from a ferry journey. Leave fob in car or activate another 10 hours when they call. No drama.

You can disable the tracker for a set period of time via the app - saves countless false alarm calls .

You press the lock button and then press it again within 2 seconds to turn off the motion sensor and tilt sensor on the alarm for transporting the car or for when you leave dogs/kids in the car.
