Old CAD workstation, processor too old for win 11
Discussion
I've got a similar spec as the PC shown below, but with Nividia Quadro K2200 and 1.8TB storage. I don't use it for work anymore just game emulators and some lower end (slightly) newer stuff.
The processor is too old for win 11, is is possible or worth updating it or should I get a new PC, budget is probably £500 absolute max. I'd rather keep to the safer route of using win 11 with an approved processor over the risk of issues.
TIA, as you can tell I'm pretty out of touch with PC specs etc so excuse the newbieness!

Have you tried installing Win 11 using Rufus? It would cost nothing to see if you can get it working.

I used the 'Server' installer option to install W11 on an unsupported Intel iMac last week.
Selecting the Server versions bypasses a lot of checks.
Followed the (very simple) instructions in this Redit post...

...and it should be even easier for you as you can ignore 3 of the 5 steps that are specific to Mac.
Looks like the same process works for other unsupported hardware too - and this are probably the source of the initial solution.

Thanks for all the responses, lots of options to consider there so I'll look into them all.
Also on your statement about having updates beyond the end of Win 10, is this the case? I thought you had to pay for updates beyond the end date?
Thanks,
Dunc.

eeLee, keep in mind I'm not a tech but my thinking was, will the win 11 updates be ok in future? I wondered if Win 11 would do a hardware check to make sure everything was compliant. Also on your statement about having updates beyond the end of Win 10, is this the case?
