Super car driving experience
Discussion
Some time ago I posted that I had won a supercar driving experience in a charity raffle ,the prize consisted of a choice of 5 cars from a list and 6 miles in each at Brands Hatch , I have finally got around to doing it today
Out of the list of cars on offer , I chose as my drives Audi R8 , BMW i8 , Ferrari 430 .Lamborghini Gallardo and a Nissan GTR
Given the number of participants and the number of cars on offer (60/70) the event was well organised , and drives kept to the timetable , the day was wet , so we had to keep the speed in corners down
The professional drivers were variable , varying from quiet direction easy to follow to direction overload with too much direction , it is most likely the quiet direction coloured my opinion of each car
.
My choices, all cars were powerful and fast
1/ Audi R8 , Easy to drive , sticks to road , the road could have been bone dry
2/ i8 Surprising, again easy to drive and great handling
3/ GTR The dark horse , powerful (very) again great handling
4/ 430 and Gallardo both skittish and uncomfortable ,both require 110% concentration , not pleasant drives .not helped by the overload from the professional drivers .I guess my opinions will be contested but at this was my first ever drive in any supercar, the above is how I found the experience

I've done a couple supercar driving experiences and I'll agree with the Audi R8, it was fantastic. It was a manual so maybe that makes a difference as the rest have been automatic.
I loved the F430 but the gearbox seemed very jerky, not sure if that is normal or not. I have another booked in a couple of months so will find out.
The Gallardo seemed like driving a lorry compared to the Ferrari and Audi, it was so big and heavy.
I've also driven a mp4-12c which was quick but just lacked something compared to a Ferrari although that might be my Ferrari bias.
I've driven a Formula Ford which was difficult but stupidly quick for a 1 litre ecoboost.
A classic mini was great fun, even if i struggled with the manual gearbox after a few years of driving automatics.
The 458 is my favourite so far though.
I've always fancied a go in an ariel atom but not booked one yet.
