812 overhang dimensions - want to buy a car with no lifter
Discussion
I’ve finally found an 812 SF with all the different options and colour I wanted *but* non suspension lift. I park in an NCP car park which has a steep ramp so I worry if this may be a problem. That said, friend’s Roma and my own M8 Comp don’t have lifters and ramp isn’t a problem for those.
Can someone share the dimensions of 812 front end, so I could compare those to the M8 and Roma and decide if I should buy this 812?

I’ll check the measurements this evening when get home.
However, probably going to get both answers.
I’ve had 458’s, 488, etc and only had light for resale reasons in practice.
The 812 is different.. regardless of what the measurements will say, my 812 would slightly rub on my garage approach, where the mid engines cleared easily.
I would entertain one without front lift. Coming down an ncp ramp going to be heart in mouth and not easy to approach at an angle either.

About 50% of 812s on the market are without lift. Then of those with lift, many don’t have other options I want, or aren’t the right colour, are post-GPF… I’ve been looking for the right one since November and I’m really keen to finally buy something and have it for the rest of spring and summer.
My M8 is 11cm ground-to-splitter and about 70cm from where the front tyre sits on the ground to the lip of the car and the ramp isn’t a problem…

The front spoiler bottom edges (carbon on mine) are 122mm from the ground. The front tyre centre to this point is c900mm. I.e. quite a significant overhang increase over your BMW. I’ll let you do the trigonometry.
In addition the rubber spoilers underneath and slightly behind sit very low at only 70mm off the ground. In practice, these would ground before the carbon bodywork. I can’t see how these wouldn’t catch and wear every time you use the ramp.
Lift wasn’t an option on the Roma as designed not to need with shorter overhangs and less underbody aero.
The 50% of cars without lift is completely incorrect. Just checked all 14 currently available on approved used and 13 of them have lift.
Only the Hatfield car doesn’t and it’s the cheapest. Dealers will tell you you don’t need it when buying but different reality if ever trying to move on.
Best of luck with the search…. Had mine 5 years now, one of the last pre GPF and really the pinnacle of what we’ll ever see.

Thanks a lot for following up and taking the time to check these measurements. The car I’m looking at is this The front spoiler bottom edges (carbon on mine) are 122mm from the ground. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2025041513... I do think that more approved used ones are without lift, e.g. another one I considered http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/2025041011...
It’s a tough one, the list of options I want means I may end up looking for months for a car that has every single one - but maybe that’s what I should do.
Novitec do one for SF90 Assetto Fiorano so they must offer one for the 812.
Seems Ferrari do a retrofit in their accessories catalogue..

So Blue is important. Albeit Blu Swaters is a beautiful colour, I think that’s a toppy price. Give Tom Gould at TWG Haselmere a call, he will be able to source a car for you and he worked at Dick Lovetts, so can give guidance on their car.
For a 6k mile car the price doesn’t seem that high, but indeed maybe £2-4k more than other cars with similar mileage. Do people negotiate with main dealers or is not a „thing”?Think the Novitec lift is about 6500, maybe plus vat.. obviously you pay what you want for the car but, non blue cars 2019 are selling at 199 at HR Owen with 9k to 14k mileage which for a V12 Ferrari you want mileage on them, 6000 mile cars in 6 years would put me off. I think at 239, the moment you drive it off the forecourt they will offer you max 205 for it. That’s more than their usual 20k margin. That’s why I think it’s a little high to start with, but of course you can negotiate, it’s not taboo at a Ferrari Dealership. I’ve never bought through them but hear they are accommodating. Beautiful colour and yes late 2018 & 2019 to aim for. GL
Just advising what it’s worth to them, as I think you said on another thread you would be moving it on in 12 months. If you are happy at 230 I’m sure DL will oblige. Not a fan of Car Auction buying but if you are thinking 230’s upwards you should bid on the Tailor Made one coming up for Auction that has the airbrushed shields option in Blue Electrico with lift..
Food for thought for sure. But like you, I’m not a fan of buying at auction. I want the most hassle free experience possible, due to numerous other commitments (family/work etc) I just don’t have the time to deal with anything other than the most straightforward buying and selling process. Hence the preference for main dealer who I know will buy the car back from me. Now it comes down to price (and whether I can live without the lift)

I offered a few thousand below the asking, dealer wants to meet me in the middle. Their argument is that this car had interior and exterior carbon fibre and other, cheaper cars generally don’t. Annoyingly, I can only get the power warranty for 1 year, and only then the full warranty for another year after.
I’m still deciding…
