Firepit coffee/dining tables - anyone got one?
Discussion
Pondering lots of things, including possibly one of these, but keen to hear from anyone who has one. Is it a pointless gimmick? Or does it actually look quite cool and maybe even provide a bit of heat? Vague idea on how long a bottle of gas would last?
I've seen either just the table itself like this: https://www.whitestores.co.uk/gladstone-rectangula...
Or part of a set like this: https://www.daals.co.uk/products/jardin-aluminium-...
Seems on the second one it'll only work when in the higher dining position, but the bottle does live inside the table. The first one I linked it sounds like the bottle needs to be housed nearby, which isn't ideal.

We've got the solo stove one. It's modular so you just have the pit or the table surround - just big enough for drinks and small plates.
We use ours a lot with the pizza oven and Argentinian BBQ third party add on.
We looked the bigger tables, but having table and source of heat separate had bigger advantages for us.

We have had a "fixed" fire table (ie it doesn't lower down) for 4 years. We use it a lot! A bottle of the patio gas lasts for about 4 evenings on lowish setting (or one evening if the kids use on full blast and leave it on all night....).
They do add a huge amount of ambience and yes a little warmth. Our is now housed inside a pergola so it is protected, but it was left outside (with a cover) for 4 years and no ill effect.
I highly recommend them.

how big is the gas bottle? Finishing a bottle in 4 nights sounds like it could become an expensive summer.....They do add a huge amount of ambience and yes a little warmth. Our is now housed inside a pergola so it is protected, but it was left outside (with a cover) for 4 years and no ill effect.

Does your bottle live in the table? I think I prefer the look of the lower 'coffee' table height option, but I'm put off by the bottle needing to live outside the table!

Ok that sounds more wallet friendly!!

Yes. Ours is a fixed height table with the fire pit integrated into it. Gas is in a little cupboard underneath and the controls are on the side of the cupboard.Does your bottle live in the table? I guess given the size of the bottles, it's impossible to fit one in a lower table, so I shall have to have a think.

We used it at the weekend, and the level dropped by a 1/4 over the evening, but that was from 6pm to 11pm. I think I pay about £20 for a 5kg gas refill at the local garage. Certainly worth it in my opinion.
But on top of that we have charcoal for the BBQ and electricity for the pergola heaters! Probably cheaper to go out for the night ;-)
