I'm still not having a lot of joy looking for our Qashqai replacement.

I've found this Tourneo Connect, which whilst not the most glamorous thing in the world looks like it will do the job of a family taxi (as this car is quite often literally used as a taxi!).

Initially I didn't want a diesel as we don't do mega miles, but it will get a decent run at least 1-2 times a week.

Couple of immediate concerns with this one:

1. It's just had a turbo replaced - is this something expected with this engine?

2. And a bit more of a worry, the MOT lists this as having an outstanding recall, I've never seen this before when looking at an MOT history?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

An outstanding recall should be addressed by the dealer. Ask him why not.

It's not a bad thing get the dealer to book it in & have the work carried out.

The Tourneo connect and grand Tourneo connect are the nicest van mpv to drive, although the Stellantis offerings (Peugeot Rifter, Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo Life) are generally cheaper to insure and for parts.

The 1.5 Ford diesels have a few quirks but IMO are more reliable than the 1.5 stellantis diesels.

If you’re looking at stuff like that it might be worth searching for WAVs - wheelchair accessible vehicles - you may need to add a seat or two (and I have no idea on the legalities of adding/subtracting seats) but they’re generally low mileage, cheap, and have had a very easy life.
