After 16 years in the US, I'll be returning to the UK later this year. Most of the insurers I've contacted aren't interested in providing cover until I've been back for more than a year.
Does anyone have suggestions for companies who may be more flexible on this?

Thanks!

I went with Aviva when I returned after 15 years in France they were the only ones prepared to quote and take into account my French NCB, that was in 2019 so things may have changed since then.

You might need a broker who knows the various policies - or those that don't do price comparisons like NFU.

Marshmallow accept overseas NCDs IIRC.

Probably much easier and less stressful to get a broker to do all the work.
Howdens ( the old A Plan ) decent - Thatcham office.

If you don’t bring over vehicles from the US tax-free, you may be missing a trick. Then it’s the usual insurers for US V8s

When I returned from overseas in 2020 I just used one of the comparison sites to get quotes and had no problem, confused.com or similar.
No claims discount doesn’t make much difference to the price. I had a full UK licence, so just answered the usual questions, how many years driving, any accidents etc.

Odd problem. Keith Michaels specialise in expat-related policies and would be able to advise.
