Tracker experiences
Discussion
I have several high end cars which need to have a tracker fitted.
After some frustration with a major company who never answer ther phone I switched to Scorpion as they were featured in the Ferrari owners club magazine.
The experience was good they actually answer their phones and are responsive and offer a good range of products at sensible cost.
My 488 has been fine.
I then had a unit fitted to my Range Rover sport and immeaditely had starting problems which the dealer blamed on the Tracker which led to its disconection. The experience cost me a £260 bill
I have just had a unit fitted to a Ason martin DBX and within a half hour it completly drained the battery something which truly alarms me.
Has anyone had any experience / got any thoughts.
The techician for both the RR and AM cars has been the same and very responsive but I am wondering whether I should seek a second opion
anyone got any experience / advice to offer
Be grateful for thoughts please

I’m hoping things have evolved since I last had an active vehicle tracker back in 2000, but one of the potential install issues was setting it to constantly keep looking for a signal for too long when parked indoors, instead of shutting off after a few mins.
Although not a problem for a short underground car park visit, if you garaged your car it meant a flat battery fairly quickly.
If you don’t park in a blind spot, it’s unlikely to be the issue.

thank you both
The car is outside and all was well until he fitted the tracker
He said he tested it however when I went to start the car in order to activate the tracker less than an hour later there was a message saying battery error and the car would not start it seemed the battery had drained. If this is the case I am very alarmed as to drain at such a rate seems impossible and yet here we were
Ive put it back onto a trickle and he will come back
Im particularly cautios as virtually the same happened when he fitted the tracker to my Range Rover

It could be that the battery is fine, but the tracker has caused some codes/issues due to where it's drawing it's power from? The car is outside and all was well until he fitted the tracker

Did you/the fitter put a meter on the battery to see if it's actually drained?
