My BMW 540i is having vibrations at 50mph and above and also below that doesn't feel as great as it used to.

I've had it checked by two different specialists who can't see anything wrong with anything underneath the car. Steering, Track rods, suspension etc. and I've had normal wheel balancing done.

One of the specialists advised I find somewhere with a Hunter Road Force Elite Balancing machine as it can pick up more imbalances than a normal machine.

Does anyone know of any near Sheffield or really anywhere in an hour or so radius?

I've been to two specialists. One couldn't feel any vibrations but nonetheless checked all the steering and suspension components and couldn't find an issue. Not sure they checked the propshaft or driveshaft tbh.

The other felt the vibrations, balanced the wheels but it didn't fix it so they advised me to search out a Hunter machine but Google isn't helping. I may go back and ask if they can check the driveshaft, is it a common thing to go?

Like I said, stick to the obvious before spending REAL money on what will likely do nothing you haven't already had done.

I've booked it in with a 3rd specialist. Quarry motors in Sheffield, not sure if I should specifically mention the driveshafts or would they then focus just on that and if it's not that not bother checking anything else? Or just mention the symptoms and leave them to it?

Most Kwik Fits have Hunter machines IIRC.

Is that for balancing or alignment?

Alignment only IIRC.

I would definitely mention that they haven't been checked but Quarry are pretty good, so should be able to help.

I would definitely ask if you can take the mechanic out to show him the issue, so he knows exactly what you are talking about.
