Sorry I know its probably been done many times before but I need the help of the pistonhead massiff for some suggestions.

I have decided I'm due a new helmet and need some options to narrow down my choice a little. Now I know what fits one person won't fit somebody else however if I had 3 or 4 possibilities to try on that would be helpful.

Ideally I would like :

Flip helmet
As quiet as possible
A wide viewing aperture
Pinlock
Don't want a d-ring fastener
Not fussed about comms
Nothing to leary, plain and low key is good.

Willing to push the boat out for a nice lid that fits the criteria and fits my head.

I bought a Shoei Neotec 3 after years of ‘regular’ full face helmets, and I’d say it meets all your criteria. And the bonus of a made-to-fit Sena sound system. Hard to fault really…and there’s a built in sun visor thingy that I thought I’d never use, but I’ve even found that useful.

Only thing is the weight - it’s much heavier than any of my previous [Shoei, for about the last 30 years] full face helmets. But I gather it’s not just because it’s a flip front, but to meet the latest regs lots of helmets have got heavier.

I gather some of the older Neotecs got a reputation for leaking, but the Neotec 3 has been fine, and it’s been through some long rides that turned out to be monsoons.
