Hi everyone,

I’m currently dealing with an issue involving an overhauled 4.3 engine. I'm not a professional mechanic, so I’d really appreciate input from someone with more experience.

The clutch was replaced and the engine fully overhauled. During reassembly, we used the original AM timing brackets and followed the procedures of the workshop manual to align the crankshaft and camshaft. The engine cranks smoothly with the starter, but it won’t start.

Could there be an issue with clutch alignment that somehow affected the timing? We're planning to check the crankshaft position sensor this weekend in case that’s the problem. The car isn’t showing any engine-related DTCs on the AMDS.

As far as I recall, the flywheel only fits in one orientation, so misalignment there seems unlikely. Fuel pressure/pump has been confirmed as good, the spark plugs are new, and the ignition coils are functioning properly. Hican / Lowcan are okay.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated!
