Hi all,

We are going to see a concert in a couple of months time and it’s at Villa Park. I’ve never been so started looking at parking options. The Villa Park website gives a strong undertone that it’ll be total misery.

I’m considering park-on-my-drive type solution, but I’m not sure which roads to avoid as I’d like to dodge the congestion if, for example, an extra ten minute walk would mean a speedy departure? It’ll be late on by the time the concert finishes - I expect maybe 11pm - so the only real traffic will be coming out of the stadium at the same time.

I’d be heading north via M6.

Any top tips?

Thanks!

Have a look at some train stations on the New Street - Lichfield line then get the train to/from Witton

Sutton Coldfield has a large car park next to it

We’re going to a concert there next month and I was wondering the same.

I’ve just booked a driveway through the Just Park app, about 40 mins walk away from the stadium but in the direction we’ll be coming and going from, so will hopefully mean we’re not sitting in traffic before or after.

Loads of closer parking spaces were already booked, and/or a lot more expensive. I’ve paid £11. I guess you can park on residential roads for free if you’re far enough away anyway? But this way at least we have a known spot to aim for.

It also sounds like the more official large car park options aren’t really much closer anyway!

And I like the idea of just legging it from the stadium back to our car rather than queuing for shuttle buses or cramming into the local stations.

I went to see Foo Fighters there because my mates a Villa fan (I support another claret and blue team) and it was terrible, in terms of queues for drinks/food.

We might be at the same concert! smile

I've booked park in my drive as well - paid £72 though! About 30 mins walk, seems as close as we can get.

A friend of ours has sent me a map of roads they normally park on but said that the area does get really clogged up.

The space I’ve picked looks decent but is unfortunately the wrong direction for the way home. Fek!

But, it’ll be what it’ll be now i guess!
