8 Series Gran Coupe Experiences

One of our leases is up in a few months and I may go back to buying a car.
A year ago i had a 6 Series GT 630d, which i know gets flak for its looks (i liked it) but i didnt spend a penny on it for 3 years (excl services), and worked like a dream for our household (2 kids), even depreciated less than I thought when i sold it.

I'm thinking of spending about £30k (just a number that makes sense - dont do enough miles for more) which doesn't stretch to a current shape Panamera or X5.

I have started to see an odd 8 Series GC come down to this price now (with sensible miles) and they seem a much more "special" option than an A7, CLS or Arteon.

For any owners - what else did you consider?

Any horror stories on ownership? How do you find the awkward backseat carrying kids about? Is the boot big enough for a family holiday and all the crap?
