Hi Folks,

Has anybody had a complete chassis refurb done within, say, the last 12 months? I’ve got 98 4.5 & wanted a rough idea of how much it would cost please. The car has been stood for many years now & was pretty bad the last time I used it.

I’m contemplating buying a brand new chassis rather than go through the aggro of repairing my 27 year old one. Obviously, cost will depend upon how bad it is but I just wondered if anyone could give me a rough idea so I can convince my missus that a new one is the ‘only’ option 😂

Do you mean having a bare chassis repaired and recoated or including all the work to strip and rebuild the car?

I’m probably going to go with a bare chassis otherwise I’m guessing the costs of a body off will be quite high.

“Just needs a little welding” quickly becomes “I accidentally restored a car”... ask me how I know

My current full body off strip and rebuild started as a bit of a chassis and suspension check and clean...!

Blast, quite a bit of repair, zinc treat and coat on my Tuscan chassis cost £4.5k about 18 months ago.

Sportmotive have got prices on their website for them doing the work.

Thanks a lot Marcus, that’s exactly the info I was looking for. I hadn’t heard of Sportmotive before so I had no idea. Cheers.
